He obtained a PhD in 2007 on Brain plasticity and hand motor recovery after stroke (Uppsala University/Karolinska Institute, Stockholm). He leads the recovery axis in the team and his research focuses on elucidating the behavioural and neural mechanisms of manual dexterity recovery in stroke, which often remains impaired reducing independence and quality of life of many stroke survivors. A main aim is to translate knowledge on mechanisms to clinically useful rehabilitation approaches. A recent focus is on development and validation of interactive technology for manual dexterity training in stroke.
